3D Printed Schooner

Chocks Away
I have found a very small image in CAD format ,that I will modify in Tinkercad or FreeCAD for my next project.
Okay the starting point will be a 3D printed hull , that's just stage one.
I haven't a clue of how long I should make it , and the of what type of vessel I will be building .
At my age (the years are ticking by) I'm not really paranoid about becoming an Alzheimer’s Disease victim , but I must keep the little grey cells ticking over, that is why I'm starting this in Uncharted Waters Project for my wellbeing Col

Forward thinking

in the way of a question

would 80 cms or just a tad under be a good size for a sailboat ? Col

Well "Life wasn't meant to be easy."

Or put itis way this project isn't smooth sailing.
Decision time.
My hand me down Ender printer is playing up again.
So do I The choice is three options.
One: hang-up my model making tools and call it a day.
Two: buy parts for the Ender , I have been buying parts every eight weeks or so ,The Ender 3 is very high maintenance
Three: buy a new printer , both the new Creality and Elegoo are just a tad out of my price range, the only other printer is the Bambo Lab a good price but I'm not sure about the way it works via the internet.
I will sleep on it Col

Printer up-date

I have found the problem.
A very small lump of plastic on the drive has broken away.
The replacement part is about $A 25 make that $A50 if I also add a new Hot end.
The jury is still out... buy parts or update.
Whatever I do the project will restart in a week or so Col

Crafting my boat is at a standstill ....

Crafting my boat is at a standstill by the end of the week it should be back in full production

My model is in the style of a schooner type vessel; I'm using some artistic license.

Using a CAD drawing found on the net I have done a few modifications, like changing the shape and a keel plate.

A little forward thinking regarding the keel what about really pushing the envelope and make it like the keel on Australia II Col

Just a slight glitch.. maybe not

Roll on next Tuesday, that's the day my new printer should arrive, in the meantime I busy working on the CAD files using the Layerling program Peter told me about.
As for the glitch.
The sketch I'm working with is as big as a matchbox and when I scale it the sides of the hull are very chunky , that isn't a problem for 90 % or so of the hull it's the Bulwarks that look very thick .
The way I'm thinking of solving the problem.
1: reduce the deck keel distance
2: the old top of the bulwark will become the new deck level
3: fabricate new bulwarks Col
