PT-109 run

Honestly, sometimes I get the shakes thinking about bending plywood (and even balsa) onto these old kit’s hulls. I’ve seen some build blogs on some of these Dumas kits where guys throw out the instructions and figure out their own way to get all that plywood onto those frames. I’ve been guilty of that more than once! I think a few of us have been guilty of shoving large blocks of balsa in between frames around the bow and started carving away like crazy men and then sanding until our hands bleed and then get the subsequent sinus infections. Yet, the success makes it all worth while!

Wow this brings back memories!

She is built as shown in the original kit, using nails for the gun barrels. She has the extra gun on the bow also. Beautiful!👍👍👍👍👍
The sure way to succeed is, just try one more time

Issac! A classic kit that I've never tried, but always wanted to give a go. Maybe someday, but I've always heard the hull was a tough build? No matter what, your's looks awesome and it's great to see it going strong!

My pond’s water level is dropping. But plenty of depth left for my 30 plus year old restored Dumas PT-109

Two brushed motors with a LiPo 2S battery. Duration at medium speed of over an hour with a 5000 mAh battery.

Also , it’s easy to transport when going on trips

😎😎
