A few pictures / information about the sail controls . . .
Had to resort to simple things!
First the sail winch. It is a Hitec type HS-785HB with
karbonite gears and ball bearing
6V / Speed 1.38 Sec 360° / Torque 13.2kg (183.3oz.in)
Who doesn't know the yoyo for admission tickets? Exactly created for easy tensioning of the sailing line.
But how did I build the guide of the rope? With spools of thread from my wife's sewing machine!
She wasn't thrilled. . . I bought her new ones for the sake of peace of mind.
I got the scheme of the rope routing from a buddy, but I will revise the whole thing without using a yoyo. (Less pressure on the sailing servo)
There are still ideas to come, but I already have an idea box
Instead of the yoyo, a closed rope ring should be connected directly to the sail winch. The tension should be ensured by a lateral spring. A scheme of my idea follows so that everyone understands me, or my English typing!
Take a look at the photos. Questions are gladly answered
Other Data and pictures will follow . . . Please be patient, thanks. 😉

Back from abroad, I replaced all the cables on my model sailboat. It was a bit of a challenge again. But perseverance pays off.
I really put a lot of effort into it.
See for yourselves in the pictures...
Yours, Michel-C.
PS: The clamping device should actually be equipped with a spring. I'm still working on this improvement.
Last year I wanted to renew and improve the average of the sail steering, but my wife made a big request to me: I should finish the Mississippi stern wheel steamer first. I had so many construction sites on it and it had to be ready for the christening on 25.04.25.
It was really crazy, but we managed it. (M & D shipyard)
Now I have my dusty girl back on the dockyard table and tomorrow I'll start in stages to finally activate the Reine des Vents.
Unfortunately, my wife's accident has put a stop to all the travelling I wanted to do and we are now enjoying some quieter time at home. Yes, and I'm allowed to continue working from time to time between the walks recommended by the doctor. also ok . . .
Greetings from Michel-C.
Things are progressing slowly but surely.
But now my shipyard is closed for the last time. Our last camping trip for a few days starts tomorrow and lasts until the end of the week.
Visiting friends, seeing beautiful places and suddenly it's Sunday! How time flies!
Bb Michel-C.
Finally we continue, because we are enjoying the reasonably good weather and have been travelling with the camper again . . I have now finished the sail box and also created the new sail line holder. We are moving forward.
This sailboat will also have its own remote control. That's obvious, because if I'm no longer able to tinker because of my age, then whoever wants the boat will get a complete system.
Just insert the batteries and you can sail with it.
Thinking ahead is always good.
Bb, your Michel-C.
My painting partner at the shipyard is getting active again.
So I can devote myself to details on the CAD and then laser them.
Thank God, things are moving forward . .
Crafting greetings,
Michel-C.
not in winter, when we do handicrafts
Salüt, Michel-C.
I think that you are more a holidaymaker than a modelboatbuilder😂😂😂
after almost 18 days of holidays I will only be partially active, as I have to prepare the motorhome for the motor vehicle inspection.
Now I have started to adjust the units, step by step. Let's see if my ideas bear fruit!
Keep your fingers crossed for me, thank you!
Best regards, Michel-C.
Now put together for testing.
Now the details, rails, guide tubes etc. follow.
Then the complete assembly will be carried out with screws and some additional gluing.
But first my boatyard is closed for 1 1/2 weeks.
We are ‘on the road’ at my wife's request!
bb Michel-C.
